Description
Chinese Ming Dynasty Sino-Tibetan Gilt Bronze Bhodisatvas figure of Avalokiteshvara. As the nature of all buddhas, seated Avalokiteshvara, with resplendent, smiling, peaceful face and radiant. ˜Decorated in front with a gilded demi-florette. The silk belt is draped over the figure body, and wraps around both arms downward to the pedestal. There is extensive gilding remaining and traces of blue pigment in the hair. Adorned with many attractive silks and jewels. Hands in Bhumiparsa-Dhyana Mudra gesture of meditation and invoke the earth to truthiness of his words.
The underside marked with four flori-form petalsof double vajras, and a centralize yin-yang symbol.
