Description
A Roman iron dagger with leather grip still remaining, c. 1st - 2nd Century AD, the blade and handle cast as a single piece, amazingly the handle with preserved leather wrapping and woven cloth base. The blade with three parallel groove running next to the edge of the blade and coming together at the point, visible on either side. L: 13 ¼ in (33.7cm). Well-preserved for an iron weapon and very rare thus! Ex Cambridge, UK private collection.
