Description
Pre-Columbian, Mayan Territories, Mexico thru Central America, ca. 550 to 900 CE. Set of three very fine Mayan blades made of chert. Each bifacially knapped with sharp edges and fine pointed tips. These would have been attached to wooden shafts and used for throwing or close combat. Size: largest measures 6-1/2"L.
Provenance: Ex-private P. Davis collection, Santa Monica, CA, acquired between 1985 and 1995.
