Description
Southwestern United States, Native American, Navajo, 20th century CE. A gorgeous hand made Navajo ring comprised of sterling silver and a large boulder turquoise, created by a jeweler of the Nakai family. It is stamped sterling and Nakai. The artisans of the Nakai family removed all copper from the silver and shined their pieces with diamond dust to create the shiny appearance that you see here. Turquoise is considered boulder turquoise when the lapidarist cuts natural vein turquoise in a direction that allows the vein of the rock to show in either side in a ribbon or splotchy pattern. Size: 11.7 grams with stone; ring size 9.5. Stone measures 7/8" x 3/4".
