Item Details
Description
Mexico, ca. 18th century. A lady's knife comprised of an iron blade and brass handle, engraved with the following, "Adela Jesusita tu me enganas," which roughly translates to, "Adela Jesusita you cheated on me." Such knives typically belonged to ladies (perhaps of the night) who might encounter a bit of drama. We invite you to fill in the plot lines. The knife is petite enough to hide in a discreet location and comes with a hand-made leather scabbard that dates a bit later than the 18th century weapon. Size: 5-5/8"L with 3-1/2"L blade; 7-3/4"L in scabbard.
