Description
Continental, 19th century. Likely German or French figural porcelain censers depicting Persian male and female figures each to a blue painted scrolled pedestal with hand painted floral reserve, the figures in vibrantly colored robes and with traditional cultural accouterment, each with a naturalistic tree trunk to backside bearing hole at top for incense joss sticks or flower stems. Female sculpture marked to underside with incised figure 8. Male sculpture approximately 11.625" tall, 4.375" wide, 3.5" deep. Provenance: From the Estate of Sam & Florence Inman, Atlanta, Georgia.
