Description

Rare 1976 Fenton Custard Glass (Uranium) Hanging Heart pattern, eight crimp, #8925-CI (5 inch), collar base rose bowl! Our gorgeous example is a unique example in this line, and features incredible maroon glass inlaid hearts and trailing vines. This valuable Fenton treasure, carries both the proper 1970s no number added embossed Fenton logo, and a tall case Bicentennial embossed 1976. Our Hanging Heart Custard bowl explodes under black light, and is in great condition. This valuable rose bowl weighs 1# 10 oz. and measures 5 x 5 x 4.75 inches tall. xxxxxxxxxxxxx. RARE Mold blown Fenton Hanging heart pieces were inspired by the blown offhand examples produced by Robert Barber in 1975. The Hanging Heart line was introduced in January of 1976, and encompassed (10) total forms in two prime collectible colors. Both Custard (Uranium) Iridescent and Turquoise Iridescent formulas became instantly popular, BUT, for the most part, to high end collectors. The cost of finished Hanging Hearts was extremely high, as the hearts & vines were hand inlaid subsequent to the items formation, but prior to the full cooling of the base. This allowed for the inlay to be completed as part of the vessel, with full fusion, rather than being a relief webbing, which would be subject to breakage. Beloved though it was, the average buyer did not consider the high item price a bargain, so consequently, with flagging sales, Fenton discontinued the production of the Hanging Heart line in December of 1976, just 11 short months after its unveiling. THIS FACT ALONE MAKES HANGING HEART ITEMS EXTREMELY COLLECTIBLE, AND HIGHLY VALUABLE! *** weighs 1# 10 oz. and measures 5 x 5 x 4.75 inches tall
