Description
Pre-Columbian, southern Peru, Nazca to early Huari / Wari, ca. 400 to 700 CE. Attractive pottery jar in near canteen shape in deep red with two underworld beasties decorating the vessel. Each mythical beast sports numerous eyes and has been commonly refered to as a "Wari Stinger Animal." Single suspension lug on shoulder, chevron design around neck of rim. Size: 5-3/4"H.
