Pre-Columbian, South Coast of Peru, Nazca to Huari transition period, ca. 500 CE. A flared conical kero (quero, qero) with its sides painted with the distinctive colorful, black-outlined style that marks Nazca artwork, while embracing an abstract, geometric motif that is more reminiscent of the Huari period. Size: 5" W x 4.7" H (12.7 cm x 11.9 cm)

Provenance: private Redding, California, USA collection, purchased from Joel Malter at the Spring San Francisco, USA coin show in 1993
