Pre-Columbian, southern Mexico, Veracruz/Vera Cruz, ca. 400 to 600 CE. Long strand of hand-carved and drilled shell beads. Most beads are in near white, some in brown and black. Singular pendant made from section of a spondylus shell in brick red on one side and cream on other. Size: pendant measures 2-1/4"L; necklace measures 33"L.
Provenance: Ex-private Houston, TX collection acquired at auction or local gallery between 1982 and 1994.
