A Lemerle Charpentier & Cie French Gilt Bronze Figural Mantle Clock & Thermometer, 19th century
Marks to mechanism: LEMERLE CHARPENTIER PARIS
33 x 18-1/2 x 11 inches (83.8 x 47.0 x 27.9 cm)
The gilt clock surmounted by pomegranate finial flanked by rooster heads, floral garland held aloft by two allegorical robed women, central harp-style standard containing thermometer and porcelain clock face, beneath to winged putto bust resting on stepped urn decorated to sides with foliate swag and fluting to body resting on paw feet, women and urn atop gilt pedestal raised on red marble pedestal, beading to edge, sitting putto with raised arrow on marble base, reticulate gilt mounts to sides, resting on reeded medallion feet.

Condition

Wear to gilt, retains original key and pendulum, finial bent, gilt mounts to marble loose, otherwise displaying wear commensurate with age. Heritage does not guarantee the completeness or working order of clock mechanisms.
