WE SHIP! The AEAA is very proud to present this Prime collectible RARE 1924-1926 Charles Freshman Co. Inc. Masterpiece DC (BATTERY POWERED!) Equaphase tube & coil, 3 modulating dial table radio, with its original schematic! After hearing the 1921 World Series on a radio, Charles Freshman began to produce radio condensers and antennas in 1922. One thing lead to another, and in 1924 as Neutrodynes and Atwater & Kent 3 dial TRFs took over the radio marketplace, Charles jumped in with both feet. Instead of using expensive potentiometer bias controls, Charles engineers mounted the RF transformers so close to the metal frame tuning condensers that the eddy-current losses, would reduce the amplification and keep the set from oscillating. Though not terribly efficient, it was so economical that he priced his Masterpiece series set at just $60. PUT SIMPLY; THE 3 DIAL FRESHMAN TUNED RADIO FREQUENCY RECEIVER, ALLOWED FAMILIES TO BRING IN THE FARTHEST STATIONS IN WITH CLARITY. Sadly, 1930 saw the end of Charles Freshman and many other small radio pioneers. Our original radio receiver features a large side cone resonating speaker assembly, (5) marvelous RCA tubes, and a serial # B55505. This piece of history weighs 24#, and measures 30 X 10 X 9 inches tall.
