C. Grubb Patent, Aplanatic Landscape Lens, c. 1858
No. 1539. Th. Grubb (1801–1878) from the surroundings of Dublin, was an important, practical theorist, who did not earn the recognition that he deserved. Brass lens with collapsible front tube and attachment for washer stops. Focal length approx. 43 cm. With additional adapter ring for expanding the screw diameter from 90 to 118 mm. Very nice piece!
