Description
Pre-Columbian, Southern Peru, Huari/Wari, ca. 600 to 800 CE. A polychrome, decorated terracotta kero or drinking vessel of a gracefully tapered form, painted on each side with an abstract frontally positioned shaman or warrior with outspread arms and legs set within an architectural niche, donning a headdress adorned with an upwards arrow, all in hues of orange, red, black, and white. Size: 5-1/8" x 5-1/8" in diameter at the rim.
