Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Carchi-Narino, Capuli Complex, ca. 850 to 1500 CE. Ceremonial pedestal bowl with slightly flaring foot, twin lugs on each side of rim, interior decorated with red 11-pointed star in base and series of negative-resist monkeys encircling the star. Â Size: 5-7/8" in diameter x 3-1/2" H.
Provenance: Ex-private Pearson collection; ex-private L. Brittan collection acquired before 1980.
