Europe, ca. 1900 CE. A hand-carved and hand-painted wooden doll representing Santa Maria with a rosy cheeked countenance, a curled coiffure, and a simple red and green dress. Her arms are articulated/jointed at the shoulders and elbows. Red wax seal on back of doll inscribed with "AD Philippi et Jacobi - In Kranichberg Sig II." A fabulous example of folk art with excellent wear and patina! Size: 15-1/4"H.
