Description
Latin America, Mexico, Puebla, ca. 1875. A charming pair of nativity figures representing Mary and Joseph. Both of these standing polychome figures boast finely delineated details that are hand painted and hand carved. Note the meticulously carved coiffures and sweet blue laces on Mary's feet. Mary's eyes are made of glass. Joseph's possibly as well. Each dons lace lined cloth undergarments. Enchanting Spanish Colonial votive santos created in Puebla, Mexico for a Nativity or Misterio. Custom display stands. Size: Figures alone stand 8-1/4"H, 9-1/2"Hon stands.
