Latin America, Mexico, ca. 1930. Small lacquer trunk with hinged lid, beautifully hand painted with four quaint landscape scenes set at night, on the top, two sides and front panels. Each landscape is framed with floral motifs. On lid's interior is a depiction of the Mexican coat of arms featuring the golden eagle devouring a snake. A lovely work of folk art! Size: 25"L x 11-3/4" deep x 8-1/2"H.
