Description
CHURCHILL WINSTON S.: (1874-1965) British Prime Minister 1940-45, 1951-55. Nobel Prize winner for Literature, 1953. T.L.S., Winston S. Churchill, one page, 8vo, 10 Downing Street, Whitehall, 31st October 1954, to Helmut Isenberg ('My dear Sir'), on the printed stationery of the Prime Minister. Churchill writes, in full, 'It was with pleasure that I received the ball-bearing pen which you brought to London for my Birthday. I am much obliged to you for your kind thought'. A light, although reasonably large, stain appears at the base of the letter, only very slightly affecting Churchill's surname and paraph (which remain perfectly legible). One file hole to the upper left corner, not affecting the text or signature. G. £600-800
