Note: Millard Sheets is perhaps best known as a painter but the multifaceted artist was also a talented architect, mural designer, tapestry and mosaic tile designer. The present clean-line modernist composition showcases the artist's talents as an American Scene artist. Alba H. Cisneros worked under Millard Sheets at his Claremont studio, Millard Sheets Design, where she was trained in mosaic mural design and creation. By repute, after the present work sustained damage, Alba repaired the mosaic and added her initials in the lower left: AC.
