Description
Good Limoges style whiskey jug with clouds, grasses and lots of fired on gold, the work of Maria Longworth Nichols in 1882. Little black spiders abound on the piece, one of Nichols' favorite themes. Marks include Rookwood in block letters, the date and the initials MLN in black on the bottom that appear to be fired on. Height 8 1/4 inches. Restoration to the handle. Ex Townley collection.
