Description
Four flies and a pencil illustration of The Bull Hotel in England. The Bull Hotel at Downton, a former coaching inn, was once the place to stay for anglers fishing the Hampshire Avon. Its golden days were in the 1960s when it was taken over by Capt L.A.Parker, who served in the Royal Flying Corps then took over the hotel. He was a keen roach fisher and caught several over 2lb, the largest 2lb 12oz. but he was equally interested in trout fishing, and handed out much valuable advice to those fishing local stretches of the Avon. He wrote several books including "This Fishing", published in 1948. The hotel had its own waters, rated as one of the best places to fish on the Avon. Image size is 5 3/4" x 11 1/2" and in a 13" x 17 1/2" frame. Excellent condition.
