G. Accarisi e Nipote Firenze, Italian sterling dessert or pastry set in the original presentation box.
The two piece set consists of an Italian silver gold gilt ladle and tongs, c. 1856. Both pieces of the set feature an articulated classical human figure on top of elaborate twisted handles.
The tongs are fashioned as very naturalistic claws. The bowl of the ladle is hallmarked "QUATTRINI CENTO 1856 FIORINO" with a the Granducato di Toscana Leopoldo II 1824-1859. The ladle measures 7"l x 2.25â€d. The tongs are 4.75"l. The set is presented in its original blue velvet box lined with burgundy silk and velvet, fully labeled inside the top "G. Accarisi e Nipote Firenze" and "Wiesbaden"G. Accarisi e Nipote Firenze (Giuseppe Accarisi and Nephew) were Florentine jewelers, goldsmiths and silversmiths in the second half of the 19th century. They are important Italian makers whose work was exhibited in numerous World Expositions which include: 1888 Italian Exhibition in London, the 1893 Colombian Exposition, 1894 Universal Exposition of Antwerp and the 1889 Universal Exhibition in Paris
