A REGENCY PENWORK TEA CADDY, CIRCA 1820, decorated in the neo classical taste with an octagonal hinged lid centering the goddess Ceres recumbent upon her stylized chariot with scythe attribute and plucking leaves from a nearby tree, driven by her cherubic companion and pulled by a large langoustine on a ground of harvested grape cluster and squash, above conforming sides depicting Diana driving her chariot pulled by paired stags, Jupiter with his eagle attributes opposite his wife Hera seated in classical robes, opening to a foil lined interior enclosing two mahogany lidded compartments.
