Pre-Columbian, Veracruz, Mexico, ca. 600 to 900 CE. Large and quite exceptional terracotta female figure shown seated with crossed legs and arms to sides. She wears an elaborate headdress, necklace, large ear spools, nose ring, with shoulders scarified. Size: 14"H x 7"W.
Provenance: Ex-private collection of Charles Benton, Chicago, IL collected before 1968.
