THE LYNCHING OF LEO FRANK
Picture postcard, 3 3/4" x 5 3/4", depicting the unlawful execution of LEO FRANK (1884-1915), a Jewish-American factory superintended accused of raping and murdering one of his employees, Mary Phagan. The postcard shows Frank, with cuffed hands and feet, hanging from a tree while a sizeable crowd looks on. Text on the card reads: "The End of Leo Frank. Hung by a mob at Marietta, GA., Aug. 17, 1915". Fold across the center, with minor staining, else good.
