Description
An Egyptian limestone stele with drawing of a goddess, New Kingdom, c. 1570 – 1075 BC, with a beautiful line drawing of a winged goddess, perhaps Isis, seen from the waist down, her body in elegant style and standing on a ‘nub’ or gold sign. Her wings are wonderfully detailed and the scene is the product of a skilled artisan. 12 in x 8 ¼ in (30.4 x 20.9 cm). Light surface deposits. A great display piece and though fragmentary holds much eye appeal. Ex London, UK private collection.
