This FADA model 1000, also known as “Bullet,” is among the most popular radio designs of the 20th century. This model was produced in larger numbers and for a longer time than most other radios made at the same time. The name “Bullet” refers the style of the cabinet. The yellow case is accented by red ribbed knobs, dial bezel and handle. The radio features an “airplane” dial with moving lines in a gold background.
The condition of this radio is consistent with age and wear. There are very minor scratches and fading to the color. It has not been tested for working order. The dimensions (height x length x depth) are 6 in x 10 1/2 in x 5 3/8 in; 15.2 cm x 26.7 cm x 13.6 cm.

FADA was named after the acronym for its founder, Frank Angelo D’Andrea. FADA began making crystal radio sets and evolved into a large radio manufacturer which became a rapidly growing business amidst the radio boom in America. The company was based in New York.
