Created by the renowned FADA Radio & Electric Company, this art-deco radio is from the 252 series. Its yellow case is highlighted with red knobs and is in a horizontal form, which was very popular during this time. It features two ‘gumdrop’ knobs, a split dial with shortwave and three horizontal ribs in the cabinet.
The condition of this radio is consistent with its age. The back of the radio shows the most wear with traces of tape and tears. It has not been tested for working order. The dimensions (height x length x depth) are 6 3/4 in x 10 7/8 in x 5 3/8 in; 17.2 cm x 27.6 cm x 13.6 cm.
FADA Radio & Electric Company (1920)
FADA was named after the acronym for its founder, Frank Angelo D’Andrea. FADA began making crystal radio sets and evolved into a large radio manufacturer which became a rapidly growing business amidst the radio boom in America. The company was based in New York.
