Description
Rome, Imperial Period, ca. 200 to 400 CE. This is a very narrow Roman iron dagger without handle. The Romans had extensive knowledge of working with metals and often spread that knowledge through conquest and trade to new areas, such as Roman Britain. The iron to make this dagger could have come from any number of sources throughout the Empire. Size: 7" L x 0.5" W (17.8 cm x 1.3 cm).
Provenance: Ex-Estate of John Piscopo. Mr. Piscopo was one of the largest collectors of ancient weapons in the US with a collection that spanned all cultures, all ages.
