Description
Chinese, Xuande Period mark (1426-1435), likely late 19th/ early 20th century. A small Wucai decorated porcelain meiping or plum vase with band of alternating blue, red, and green lappets topped by a waterscape depicting ducks swimming in a placid river or lake amid lotus blossoms and seagrasses, the sloping shoulder with a band of chrysanthemum blossoms on vine topped by a band of alternating color leaf tips, the whole with double cobalt bands separating motifs. Marked to shoulders with single line of calligraphic marks for Xuande Imperial reign. Overall approximate height 11.625", diameter 8.25".
