Fraught with dreamlike intensity, this work by American painter Inka Essenhigh creates a surreal sensibility within its environment. A figurative form with a snake-like body and human face is wrapped around the peak of a mountain with a broken top. A smaller figure with a skull-like face, perhaps representing death, pulls the larger figure down as it grasps on for its life.
