A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN LIDDED JAR, QING DYNASTY, POSSIBLY TUNG CHIH PERIOD, the high shouldered bowl centering a polychrome enameled small green and black bird perched atop a budding branch alongside two large fully bloomed pink chrysanthemum and auspicious foliage, the conformingly decorated lid with a raised handle enclosed by a red rim border, reversing to two-row black character inscription marks reversing to a square iron red double-line seal with faded characters, accompanied by a hardstone base. Height: 4 1/4" Diameter: 5 1/4"
Condition
Bowl in good condition, with no apparent cracks, chips, or repairs. Some minor loss of gilding, and enamel and some pitting, but hardly noticeable, as is expected and appropriate for the age of the item. As mentioned, square iron red seal mark centering underside with faded character marks. Simpson Galleries strongly encourages in-person inspection of items by the bidder.
