This photograph, Town + Country is from the well known and critically acclaimed Cover Girl series. The photograph is on Fuji Crystal Archive Paper. This photograph is initialed "Ike" and inscribed "BAT" on verso in ink. BAT (fit to print) means Bon-A-Tirer. Barely noticeable ink from signature show on verso ...in dark color of jacket so non issue.
Printed and published by MUSE X, LA.
There were 25 images from Ude's Cover Girl series. The works were produced in two sizes, 30x40" (exhibition size) and the smaller approx 8 1/2x11" magazine/tabloid size. Each as addition of 10. The retail price of the larger is $18,000 each. The smaller size is $8,000.
These are EXTREMELY difficult to come by. I have several different images left from the series, all beautiful.
About: From his provocative Cover Girl series featuring photographic portraits of himself on the covers of popular magazines, to his writings on sexuality and identity, the work of Ike Ude explores a world of dualities.
Like Andy Warhol, Ude plays with the ambiguities of the marketplace and art world, particularly in his notorious art, culture, fashion magazine, RUDE.
You can find a lot of informative information on the internet , in magazines, books about Ike Ude and about the Cover Girl series.
Once again, my photo does not do justice of this photograph as when seen in person
