Set design is signed lower right P. Dohanos and comes from the estate of Peter S. Dohanos. Old United Scenic Artists A.S.A. 820 Local Union 829 stamp on front above the signature. In good condition. Image size 12 ” x 17 ”.
NY Times - Dec 29, 1988: S. Peter Dohanos, a scenic designer for film, television and theater, died of lung cancer Monday at his home in East Hampton, L.I. He was 57 years old. Mr. Dohanos, a son of the artist Steve Dohanos, was born in Cleveland and raised in Westport, Conn. He was a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and Dartmouth College, and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Early in his career, Mr. Dohanos was art director for ''The Kraft Television Theater'' and was production designer for ''The Bell Telephone Hour.'' Among the films for which he served as production designer were ''Diary of a Mad Housewife,'' ''Summer Wishes, Winter Dreams,'' ''To Find a Man'' and ''For Love of Ivy.'' Among the sets he designed for plays were for ''Kataki'' and ''Ernest in Love,'' which opened in Manhattan in 1959 and 1960, respectively. Mr. Dohanos was also a watercolorist.
