Malissard, George (French, 1877-1942) “Epinard.” Bronze horse sculpture. Signed, titled, and dated on the base Geo. Malissard Epinard 1923. Also titled on plaque. In good condition. Measures 15 ” x 18 ”. Mounted on a conforming wooden base.
From Askart: Georges Malissard was a French sculptor, born in Anzin (Nord) October 3, 1877 and died in 1942.Malissard is known for his many equestrian statues of personalities of time, including that of Marshal Foch Cassel. A copy was built in London in 1930 in Grosvenor Gardens.
