Description
Latin America, Mexico, late 19th century to early 20th century CE, Spanish Colonial period. A hand carved wooden santos pairing, depicting Saint Francis dressed in the flowing hooded robe of his traditional habit, holding and presenting the infant Jesus. Nice craftsmanship - notice how the artist captured the contraposto of the standing Francis and the flowing quality of those robes, not to mention those wonderful inlaid eyes. Size: 13" H (33 cm)
