East Asia, probably China, end of the first millennium BCE. This is a bronze-hilted iron short sword with a beautiful stacked disc design on the handle. This sword was probably made solely to be a grave good rather than being used for combat because of its design. Size: 13" L x 1.75" W (33 cm x 4.4 cm).
Provenance: Ex-Estate of John Piscopo. Mr. Piscopo was one of the largest collectors of ancient weapons in the US with a collection that spanned all cultures, all ages.

Condition
The handle is in beautiful condition, with clear shape and a fine dark patina; the blade itself has been rusted and worn to a large degree, but remains; the blade has been preserved.
