Description
An interesting letter, a letter-by-letter copy in handwriting of a letter by Rabbi Aharon Kotler, with handwritten testimony at the end of the document: "copied letter by letter from the body of the writing of Rabbi Aharon the Rosh Metivta of the Etz Chaim Yeshiva, and the copy completely matches the letter, and as proof I am signing, 30th January 1935, Meir Karelitz, Llachovic" together with a stamp.
The letter's content: A Heter Hora'ah (permission to rule) which Rabbi Aharon Kotler gave to Rabbi Hillel Kostanovich, a student in the Slutsk Yeshiva, "of this kind we ordain. I join my hand to support him to ordain him the ordination of sages, he shall surely rule and judge and become a rabbi according to the Torah, and aside from this he is wise and sharp in dealing with worldly issues"
Rabbi Hillel Kostanovich was one of the prize students of the Slutsk Yeshiva which later moved to Kletsk. Testimonies in his name appear in the book "B'derech Etz HaChaim", Conduct and Facts from Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer, 1986.
19x22cm.
Condition: Very Good. Folding signs. Filing hole with a slight tear, with no damage to the text.
