Untitled (BRUTALIST STEEL BUMPER SCULPTURE) Welded steel on a stand. Signed on the base SELEY Dimensions: H 33" x W16" x D 11" Condition: Good. Note:"Jason Seley (1919-1983) studied with Ossip Zadkine in New York from 1943-1945 at the Art Students League. From 1947-1949, he sculpted and taught in Haiti at Le Centre d'Art. He was the recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship for sculpture, France 1949-50. His preferred medium was automobile bumpers. He taught at Hofstra College and NYU in the early 1960s and received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Cornell University in 1966. In 1969 he received the Guggenheim award for sculpture. Seley, taught at Cornell University for many years and served as dean of the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning."
