Description
Rene Buthaud (French, 1886-1986) A Vase. Glazed stoneware vase is decorated with "peau de serpent" glaze within spaced ovals, beneath a round frieze surrounding the opening. Underside is signed "J. Doris" which was the pseudonym for Buthaud pieces made for the American market. Vase has been drilled for use as a table lamp Height: 10"
Condition
The edge of the underside sustains an area of green pigment. There are also two 1/8" green pigment spots towards the base of the body of the vase. Otherwise, this piece is in very good condition.
