A PAIR OF LARGE CIRCULAR POLYCHROME PAINTED AND GLAZED EARTHENWARE SERVING BOWLS, POSSIBLY SPANISH/PORTUGUESE, ONE SIGNED, 20TH CENTURY, each with a broad gently sloping flat rim centering floral decoration, enclosing a shallow well and raised on a short conforming foot pierced for suspension, one with the winged Archangel Saint Michael wearing armor and hand holding his drawn sword while the other holds the scales, standing with one foot on the back of a vanquished scrolling tailed demon, before a background of stylized flames, reversing to a handwritten, "C,camares," diameter: 17"; the other centering a well with a maiden saint wearing billowing robes with hands holding a circular coin or dish and strings suspending a fish, while strolling amidst stylized blossoming foliage, diameter: 17".

Good condition, consistent crackled glaze throughout, some normal kiln frits, surface buildup and a few small scratches.
