Description
AN ANTIQUE FRENCH POLISHED BRASS CARRIAGE CLOCK, NUMBERED 450, RETAILED BY BAILEY, BANKS AND BIDDLE, PHILADELPHIA, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, the rectangular case with beveled glass paneled sides and top surmounted by a hinged brass handle and a repeat button, enclosing a white enameled dial centering black Roman chapters and cut steel hands, above a diminutive alarm dial with Arabic numerals and a similar cut steel hand, reversing to a hinged glass paneled door opening to a brass back plate stamped, "MADE IN FRANCE / 450," beneath a disc hammer striking a circular gong before various adjusters, raised on a conforming molded base with block feet, including a winding key.
