A GROUP OF FOUR VARIOUS ROYAL DOULTON STONEWARE LOCKING HUMIDORS, MAKER'S MARK, MID 20TH CENTURY, each ceramic pot topped by a spring loaded lid, a metal crossbar centering a demilune knob stamped "PATENT/No. 194168," the sealing mechanism releasing to reveal a spacious dry storage chamber, base impressed with circular "Royal Doulton" over "England" mark headed by a standing crowned lion, "PATENT/No. 194168," and initialed by the artist, comprising a sage green and russet brown glazed canister, artist initials "MY"; one with an oak leaf design on a textured cream and blue ground, artist initial "JB"; another oak leaf decorated vessel with "JH" and "PW" artist initials; as well as a canister embellished with a sailing ship design, artist initials "MW," each humidor, height: 5 3/4", diameter: 5"; accompanied by a Royal Doulton stoneware lidded jar, the baluster form body ornamented with a register of foliate panels alternating two detailed profile portraits of a royal man and a crowned woman within roundels, the dark blue and green ground with an allover raised "AR" and "ER" pattern, under a conformingly decorated lid, the base stamped with circular maker's mark, along with decorator's emblem for Ethel Beard, and the date "1888," height: 6 1/2", diameter: 4 1/2".
