Description
The painted cedar trunk came from the Chinese northwestern frontier. Some of the inhabitants were still nomadic, tending their flocks, and living in tents. Moving around was rough on the finish, resulting in this interesting patina. Cedar wood repels insects, and the ample storage space is still excellent for storing clothing and linens. The provenance is Gansu Province, Northwestern China and the age is 19 century. Dimensions are 38 inches wide, 21 inches deep, and 31 inches high.
