VOSTOK MISSIONS: A good collection of individually vintage signed 3.5 x 4.5 photographs by the first six Russian Cosmonauts Yuri Gagarin (1934-1968, Vostok 1, the first man to journey into space, 1961), Gherman Titov (1935-2000, Vostok 2, the second man to journey into space, 1961), Andriyan Nikolayev (1929-2004, Vostok 3, the first person to make a television broadcast from space, 1962), Pavel Popovich (1930-2009, Vostok 4), Valery Bykovsky (1934- , Vostok 5) and Valentina Tereshkova (1937- , Vostok 6, the first woman to journey into space). Each of the images, representing the crew members of the complete Vostok Missions of the Soviet Space programme, depict the cosmonauts in head and shoulders poses wearing their spacesuits and helmets. All have been signed in bold fountain pen inks with their names alone to clear areas of the images. Four have traces of former mounting to the verso, one slight tear to the surface of Tereshkova's image and a slightly larger tear and some creasing to the surface of Bykovsky's image.
