Antique c. 1879 small delicate hand painted Limoges porcelain teacup. Made by Haviland & Co., Limoges France for James Allan & Co., Charleston, SC. James Allan was a jeweler in Charleston (1865-1908), who like many jewelers of his era, also retailed sterling and china, servicing the needs of the local families. The Haviland mark is the one used from 1879-1883. A small piece of Charleston's elegant past. Saucer 4.50x4.50. Cup 3x2.25x2.25. Weight 3.2 oz. PROVENANCE: A Private Charleston SC Estate.
