Description
PRESSED DIAMOND LATTICE NAPPIES ON FOOT / COMPOTES, LOT OF TWO, colorless lead glass, comprising one with 31-point rim, 40-ray sunburst in the slightly slumped base, and conforming cover having an applied blown button-like finial, the other with a 34-point rim and 46-ray sunburst in the flat base, each raised on a hexagonal stem and domed circular foot with patterned interior, wafer construction. Probably New England, possibly Patrick F. Slane's American Glass Co., South Boston, MA. 1850-1860. 8" HOA, 7 1/4" D rim, and 5 5/8" H, 8 1/4" D rim, 4 3/8" D foot.

Provenance: From a Maine private collection.
Catalogue Note: The cover is made from the same mold as the nappie. It has a rough pontil mark on the interior.
Undamaged except for a flake to one point of open example and to one point of cover.
