Description

Pair of Unusual Folk Art Polychromed Clay Figures, c. 1940, of Franklin Roosevelt and Joseph Stalin, seated on handmade wooden chairs, Stalin- H.- 6 5/8 in., W.- 3 1/2 in., D.- 3 in.

Condition

Condition consistent with age. Glue residue is observed on the backs and feet of both figures, especially on FDR. Light yellow discoloration is seen scattered in the hair of both figures. Stalin- Scattered areas of the red jumpsuit are lacking clear glaze. An approximate 1 cm crack is observed in the proper left wrist. A glue or glaze drip is seen on the handle of the sickle. FDR- Several ½ cm hairline cracks are noted in the lapel and undershirt. A delightful pair with remarkable details. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD "AS IS."
