Shaped in bulbous hexagonal form, each side is reticulated and raised on a separate fitting stand
Lavishly decorated in Famille Verte color pallet of enamels and pale green glazed ground
All panels enclose figural landscape reserves, featuring figures in a garden or indoor setting, set against an openwork relief decor
Ornamented with motifs of floral sprays grounds with and archaic patterned brocades
Borders of archaic keyfret brocade on the covers and stands
Height: 19 in (48.3 cm), each, with stand

This pair of lavishly decorated porcelain lanterns features the beautiful color pallet of Famille Verte enamels over a fine green glaze. The walls are dived into panels decorated with figural landscapes.

Each panel of the wall is nicely pierced and covered with sophisticated lemon-colored glaze. Richly painted floral cartouches enclose the perforated area. Sprays of various flowers including peonies, cherry blossoms, morning glory and a pair of peaches are densely painted against the fine green glazed ground.

Each top and stand is adorned with keyfret scrolls, nicely completing the beauty of the lanterns.

Condition

The Famille Verte lanterns are in overall very good condition with only minor traces of wear and abrasions to the printed pigments here and there.
